Mission: Supports the nyu institute of fine arts, a division of the nyu graduate school of arts and science; which is devoted to graduate teaching and research in the history of art and archeology and the conservation of works of art.
Programs: New york university's institute of fine arts offers master of arts and doctor of philosophy degrees, a certificate in curatorial studies issued jointly with the metropolitan museum of art, and a diploma in conservation of works of art. During fiscal 2016 - 2017, the following degrees or diplomas were conferred onto institute students: 1) 12 phd degrees 2) 40 ma degrees (excluding conservation, 46 including) 3) 6 diplomas in conservationthe institute of fine arts foundation funds were applied by the nyu institute of fine arts towards faculty compensation, student fellowships, library and visual resource collections, and the conservation training program, as well as towards support of its general program.
