Causes: Nonprofit Management
Mission: To enhance the health and well being of lives through developing and spreading innovative technologies that maximize collaboration and learning across coalitions, organizations, networks, and communities working toward healthier, sustainable communities.
Programs: Community learning spaces (hubs): this program complements the public good community commons program by providing a customized area on community commons that is designed for organization, network, or coalition to highlight place-based work or activities. Based on organizational needs and resources, a hub may include collaboration tools, data integration capabilities, and the ablity to generate and share stories with a broader audience. Custom reporting, data collection and other visualization tools are designed and implemented to provide context and supports suited to their initiative, networks, and/or organization. Examples of this work include: 1)the community health needs assessments report and hub for kaiser permanente, 2)community health improvement journey for cdc/dch, and 3)american heart association hub and reporting platform.
program general: this program focuses on activities and expenses that cut across all programs and projects. An example would include the activites surrounding metrics and evaluation of community commons and its custom hub spaces.
community commons for public good: a public online platform serving a broad-based field working towards improved population, health, and more sustainable, equitable and livable communities. It provides next generations with tools and training to help organizations, communities, and governments expedite data collection and translate information and stories into informed decision making, policy creation, and implementation. The interactive mapping, reporting, and data technology is built on this publicly available platform developed to: 1) further a systematic approach to make public data accessible for all with easy to understand visualizations such as maps, reports, charts, dashboards, and animations;2) apply an asset based approach to help grow and sustain impact;3) identify and support areas of high burden within communities lacking resources; and4) connect communities, intermediary organizations, and potential funders.
training and user support: this area of work is focused on customized training and support for organizations, networks, or coalitions. Activities would include developing customized onsite or virtual trainings contextualized to the specific goals and needs of the audience; customized training videos and written guides/handouts, etc. Development of presentations at conferences may also be included if they are project or funder specific.
