Causes: Nonprofit Management
Mission: To support healthy communities and a healthy earth, the institute for conservation leadership strengthens leaders, organizations, coalitions and networks.
Programs: Program service projects - beginning in 2014, icl has led work to strengthen collaboration capacity within the delaware river watershed initiative. Icl supports leaders and work within and among collaborations in targeted regions in the watershed. Icl also supports collaboration among groups working across the watershed, including the william penn foundation, the academy of natural sciences, the open space institute and the national fish and wildlife foundation. Icl leads the freshwater leadership initiative (fli) in support of leaders, groups and collaborative efforts working on fresh water issues in the great lakes region. Icl has targeted work to support specific collaborations, as well as programs and research on leadership development across the great lakes watershed. The strengthening ohio leaders and organizations (solo) initiative provides a range of support to leaders, organizations, and collaborative efforts for the environment in ohio. The solo initiative includes focused services to support collaboration, leadership development, organizational development, and one-on-one consultation.
education and outreach - to educate a variety of groups in the conservation and environmental community about leadership, organization and cooperative work issues; especially through workshops and short educational events, telephone assistance, one on one meetings, coaching, e-communication, and website resources.
