Causes: Health, Specifically Named Diseases
Mission: To assist, encourage and inspire those afflicted with sickle cell disease
Programs: Inspiring more minds inc worked to raise sickle cell disease awareness throughout the local area through participating in health fairs, sickle cell themed events and a variety of venues where we had the opportunity to educate the public on sickle cell disease and the physical, psychological, and emotional impact it has on individuals. We aided individuals within the sickle cell community with transportation to and from doctors appointments and child care assistance when patients were hospitalized. Imm worked with students at eleanor roosevelt high school to raise awareness of scd and raise money for our scholarship fund. We participated in state hearings and federal meetings to support sickle cell related legislation. We maintained an informative website to connect and support individuals with scd and their families.
