Mission: Inland empire hospital services association (iehsa) provides training of medical residents to meet the health care needs of the pacific northwest.
Programs: Iehsa provides medical services and care to patients while providing an educational setting which furthers the medical training of residents through a fully accredited family practice and an internal medicine residency program. Iehsa provided 17,765 and 6,285 visits, respectively, in the family practice and internal residency settings for the year ended june 30, 2012. Iehsa provides care to persons covered by governmental programs at below cost and to individuals who are unable to pay. The unreimbursed value of providing care to these patients was 40,925 for charity care and 1,768,297 for medicare, medicaid, and other third party payors for the year ended june 30, 2012. Iehsa also conducts an institutional review board for spokane hospitals. As of april 1, 2012, activities of this review board were transferred to providence health & services - washington (providence) in order to further its exempt purpose.
