Mission: The initiative for global development (igd) is a non-profit organization that drives poverty reduction by catalyzing business growth and investment in the developing world. We bring together an influential network of senior executives from sector-leading companies with the interest and capacity to make strategic investments in high-need, high-potential areas of africa. Members of our frontier leaders network shape global connections and frontier market insights, and promote business-driven development to create economic growth and opportunity.
Programs: Forums and programing: igd hosted semi-annual global frontier 100 forums, regional small group events, and facilitated peer-to-peer relationships, connected ceos and business unit heads of african, south asian, u. S. , and european companies who are recognized sector leaders and share a commitment to poverty reduction. Ceos build relationships and share knowledge to:-catalyze economic growth in frontier markets in sectors with high potential for reducing poverty participants;-make connections and build relationships to foster investment opportunities and business expansion in africa, which reduces poverty;-share knowledge and insight to increase the social impact and effectiveness of members' investments; and-provide business input on global development initiatives to reduce barriers to sustainable investment in frontier markets.
impact studies and other programming: igd advisory team brings private sector perspectives, strategic insight and market-led solutions to address some of africa's development challenges, such as reducing post-harvest loss and advancing economic prosperity, for sustainable development and growth through impact studies and convenings with african private sector leaders.
