Causes: Education, Higher Education
Mission: Independent colleges of washington provides educational opportunity, choice, and success for students. Independent colleges of washington (icw) is the association of the 10 private, liberal arts, nonprofit colleges in the state. Icw's member institutions share a commitment to high-quality, academically rigorous learning and to an education that emphasizes critical thinking, lifelong learning, ethics, leadership, and community service. The mission is accomplished by providing resources for students, advocating for public policy that supports students, building strategic collaborations, and by telling the compelling story of independent higher education.
Programs: Students are at the center of the mission of icw colleges and universities. Each year, icw raises money for student scholarships and special programs; advocates for our students on both the state and federal level; and promotes collaboration among member colleges and other higher education institutions and organizations that encourages sharing of resources, cutting costs, and program development.
