Volunteering Oportunities

Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: Celebrating America’s “pit bull” dogs while working to end canine discrimination, no matter the breed, through education, advocacy, owner support and accessible services.

Results: One of our greatest accomplishments to date would be our involvement in the 2013 legislative session where we worked tirelessly to convince Nevada legislators to protect dogs of all kinds within the state from Breed Specific Legislation. Known then as AB110, the bill was passed and signed into law in October of 2013. NRS 202.500 now includes language that bans any jurisdiction within the state from declaring a dog dangerous or vicious based solely on breed. Our Spay & Neuter Assistance Program has made significant headway as well. As of August 2015, we have paid for all or a portion of more than 350 spay and neuter surgeries of "pit bull" dogs. With an average of 12 "pit bulls" being euthanized each and every day by our local shelter, this program aims to lower those statistics by curbing the number of puppies being born to an uncertain future. Our Owner Support Outreach strives to help struggling dog owners with basic resources in an effort to keep dogs at home, with their families and out of the shelter/rescue system. We do this by providing supplies such as dog food. This program is open to dogs of all types. Since 2012, we have given out more than 7700lbs of dog food to owners in need. We have provided training advice to owners who are at their wits end, paid pet deposits and given out crates to keep dogs safe and out of trouble. We also work to make harsh conditions as humane as we can for dogs living on tethers, as well as those who must live outdoors all of their lives. We have fixed fences, helped with building dog runs and provided owners with dog houses so that outside dogs have adequate protection from the elements.

Target demographics: people and their dogs

Direct beneficiaries per year: educate over 1000 school children, gave away more than 2500lbs of dog food and fixed more than 100 pit bull & pit bull mix dogs.

Geographic areas served: the Las Vegas Valley

Programs: educational outreach, low cost spay/neuter for "pit bull" and "pit bull" mix dogs and owner support.

I had such a great experience with incred-A-bull. I had my pit bull puppy spayed by them. The entire staff was so kind, helpful and patient. I am so thankful for this organization! I recommend this place to everyone!

As a local trainer and Bully breed lover, I think Jesica and the team at Incre-a-bull are doing a great job with owner assistance and community awareness. I am happy to be associated with this team

Incred-A-Bull is a wonderful organization promoting positive support for pit bull type dogs and aiding their owners. I first became aware of them a couple of years ago at a bookstore. They were raising donations by doing Christmas wrapping. Of course, being a rescued pit bull owner, I had some books wrapped, made a donation, and looked them up on Facebook. I love that they provide spay/neuter assistance and have told several friends about the program. Also, about a year ago, a dog dragging a leash came wandering down the sidewalk so I called to her. We had her for a couple of days while we made flyers and posted notices on various dog rescue Facebook pages. Within a few hours of notifying IAB, Sparky's owner saw her picture. Apparently IAB was assisting her with Sparky's care and that's why owner visited their page. Incred-A-Bull is incredible.

I made a donation to Incred-a-bull awhile back for a bonded pair that they were trying to re-home. When the deal fell through, (the former owner's son decided on a different decision for the pair) they offered my donation back to me. I did not want it back, but this told me that this was a very upstanding organization. I have had interactions with some terrible rescues. My daughter has worked with quite a few of the rescues locally and this is one of her favorites. When I am retired I plan to volunteer with them!

I volunteered with Incred-A-Bull a year ago when I moved here from New York. The IAB team is a passionate and fun group of people to be with who care about all dogs, not just the Pit Bulls but focus on breaking the false stereotypes which have labeled America's Pit Bull. Since joining this group I am happy to say that I have learned how to calmly speak with people who challenge me with accusations regarding the reputation of Pit Bulls. I also enjoy our Events and Outings which include all breeds, not just our Pit Bulls.

I volunteered with Incred-a-Bull for a couple years until I moved out if the Las Vegas area. They are one of those rare organizations that is truly in it for the good of the dogs. The IAB team is a perfect blend of compassion and innovation. They are always looking for new ways to be a positive force in the community. Their work in fighting breed specific legislation is so important to ALL dogs - not just those labeled as pit bulls. If you want to help make a difference, this is a great group to be a part of!!
