Programs: Immigration services of mountain view (ismv)'s main mission is to provide quality legal representation to the low-income immigrant community. Both attorneys & the paralegal are california licensed and the attorneys are members of the american immigration lawyer's association. Starting in 2013, ismv began filing provisional i-601a waivers for undocumented spouses of us citizens so that their entire american family is not held back in poverty, providing a service that few non-profit organizations provide. In 2014, ismv continued to be an affiliate of clinic (catholic legal immigration network). Ismv also continued its help of domestic violence crime victims and young people who were brought to the united states illegally to gain status in the us. In 2016, ismv continued to help those in need to obtain legal status in the united states. The bulk of the work was made up of u visas, vawa self-petitions, deferred action for childhood arrivals, travel documents, fbi and foia background checks, applications to become lawful permanent residents, and provisional waivers. In addition to those, ismv started to help immigrants (with lawful permanent resident spouses) apply for the provisional waiver (a process that only became available on august 29, 2016). Ismv was also able to help more victims of trafficking in 2016 and we helped the community with the surge of people who wanted to become us citizens before and after the presidential election.
