Was contacted by this organization by pho e. They asked if I could donate $35, 50 or 100. I told them I could donate $10 at the time and was asked if w could make it $20. I said not at this time and he hung up on me.

After reading the other reviews, I must say it was not my experience at all. I spoke with a very nice gentleman in December and made a donation to this organization. Received a very nice medallion and sticker in the mail shortly after. Will continue to make donations in the future. Very professional, worthy cause.

I've received several calls from this organization and they were all really bad experiences - the callers, presumably police officers, were aggressive, intimidating and certainly disrespectful and would not accept "no" each time I declined to donate. I finally reminded them that because they are police officers, this coercive approach to fundraising felt especially intimidating. They each hung up on me after that - no apology, just hung up when they didn't get the donation. Another caller sounded like a real person but was clearly an automated voice that just mimicked a real person trying to make a conversation. For these reasons I have a hard time believing this is a legitimate organization.

I keep getting unsolicited calls asking me to donate to this organization. I haven't lived in IL for 16 years, though my area code is IL, so I assume they're just buying a list of local numbers or robocalling. I am on the FTC Do Not Call List. Further, once I tell the caller, who sounds like robot, that I've asked to be removed from their list numerous times, they hang up on me. Same thing every time they call, from different numbers. On here is see that 84-95% of any funds donated go to fundraising efforts, so I wouldn't donate to them anyway.

I would give them 0 stars, but 1 is the minimum.

I received a random call from Illinois Police Association and was "badgered" into agreeing to receive a mailing from them as I agreed to make a pledge of $15 plus $2 to defray "fundraising expenses" if the mailing showed that "things were in order." I received the mailing today and looked up the "organization" Form 990 on line for their fiscal year ended 7-31-15, the last one I found.

Less than 10% of annual revenues are for programs and fundraising expenses are approximately 80% of revenues. Salaries are the remaining major line item on the income statement. This is not in order and I will not be sending this outfit any money as were I to spend a few more minutes in my analysis, I would find even more disappointing information which would probably make me even more angry than I now am.

I tried to file this rating as zero stars but the lowest rating is 1 star.

We donated to this association for a number of years. Now everytime they call for a donation they are EXTREMELY RUDE. The first time I told them we couldn't donate at this time they said "Oh How Nice" and hung up. They second time I told them they would have to speak to my boss. They didn't and when they called back they insisted that they spoke to my boss and that there was going to be a check for them. This was incorrect. They never contacted my boss and when I told them this they said... "Oh well he must've had abnesia" and hung up. By they way his name was Paul. Once we found out how much was ACTUALLY donated we decided to not donate anymore. They still continue to call and when you tell them no, they get extemely rude. I hope they never call again because next time it's going to be my boss and he is not happy about this. It's a shame because we donated to them so many times. You'd think they'd be a little more polite.
