Major Events Booth Supported • Chicago Abilities Expo • Native American Veteran National Meet-up • Promenade Mall Chess & Coffee Event • 3 Homeless Veteran Stand downs • US Army Reserve 472nd Chemical Battalion • Oak Street Heath Community Health Fairs VAMC Programs ongoing • Hines VAMC RCF -1st & 3rd Tuesday, 2:30 - 4pm, Since 2013 Forest Park Veteran Center. • Weekly Wednesday 2:00pm - 4pm, Since 12/05/2018. • Veteran Community Resource (Homeless Vets) chess program scheduled monthly every 1st/3rd Thursdays. • Evanston Vet Center Chess Club- Chess sets donated, Intro classes conducted. 2020 Major Initiatives • VA Golden/Valor Games event addition. Phase 1 complete. Petition the addition of chess as an event in Paralympics. Event added. In next Intl Paralympics. Phase 2 in progress. Influence the VA to add chess as an event. • Operation: Play Chess. In Progress. Magnetic chess sets to deployed US Troops and Cook County veteran court chess program participants.
