Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Community Foundations, Philanthropy

Mission: This corporation is a nonprofit public benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the nonprofit public benefit corporation law for public and charitable purposes. The specific purpose of this corporation is to support sight and hearing conservation and public welfare programs.

Programs: The huntington beach host lions club ("hbhlc") is a member of the lions district 4-l4, lions multiple district 4 and lions clubs international. We were chartered in 1938 and have since sponsored two additional lions clubs. We are one of 37 clubs in district 4-l4, of which orange county is major part. Our membership includes men and women who share a common commitment to humanitarian service. A diverse group from all walks of life, our members support a variety of programs that are committed to solving local and global health and social problems. Members take great pride in helping make a positive difference in the lives of people in need. Throughout the year, hbhlc has a number of fundraisers, the largest being its annual all-you-can-eat crabfest celebration. We are also active with service projects such as proving eye health care for needy students in the ocean view school district and offering man-power for pancake breakfast events for a number of organizations in town.
