Programs: This program provides education, support, mentoring and community referrals to women and men facing an unplanned pregnancy. This service also provides information regarding a woman's alternatives regarding her pregnancy decision, which include abortion, parenting or adoption. During the 2016 calendar year there were 1,247 client appointments for mentoring provided to 242 individual clients. Help was also given by handing out 1,332 dozen diapers, 47 cans of formula and other infant supplies for new mothers. 10clients were served by providing emergency sets of clothing. Unplanned, pregnancy, emergency-type materials were handed out during the year to 70 men and women. Evidence-based medical information was provided to 115 women and post-abortion support services were also provided to 3 women. There were 73 babies born to clients in 2016 and 55 bibles were handed out.

medical program/clinic performs pregnancy tests to verify a pregnancy, and if the patient is at least 6 weeks along an ultrasound can be performed. In the year 2016 91 ultrasounds were performed and 82 pregnancy tests were administered. Hls provides a limited obstetrical ultrasound for four reasons: 1. ) to confirm the presence of a viable intrauterine pregnancy, 2. ) to detect fetal cardiac activity, 3. ) to estimate gestational age, and 4. ) for familial reasons relating to maternal health. The organization seeks to educate women in several areas - sti's (sexually transmitted infections), give pre-natal information and give facts about abortion when necessary. Hls does not refer for or provide contraceptives or abortion services.
