Mission: INSURANCE COMPANY IN LIQUIDATION BY THE STATE OF HAWAII INSURANCE COMMISSIONER. On December 3, 1992, based on losses sustained from Hurricane Iniki, HEI (the parent company) indicated that it would no longer provide financial support to its insurance entities. When HEI relinquished financial control to its insurance entities, the outstanding common stock was turned over to the Insurance Commissioner of the State of Hawaii (IC) to be held in trust for the benefit of the creditors of HUI/UNICO.
