Mission: Hpii aims to improve health equality by strengthening health systems and improving health services.
Programs: In 2017, hpi institute undertook a range of activities related to improving health in low-income countries. In addition to preparing several proposals that were not successful, it did succeed in securing support from the world health organization to undertake a review of the determinants of health system performance in 20 countries. It also awarded an initial "innovation fund" grant to the zimbabwe medical research council to undertake analyses of costs, benefits and their distribution across society of a tax levy on sugary drinks to inform the development of a national policy.
