Mission: The organizations primary exempt purpose is the education of the public concerning the role of architecture and urban design in improving the quality of life for the city. The foundation sponsors lectures, workshops, symposia, as well as educational programs through the public schools to further this purpose.
Programs: Exhibitions program: the architecture center mounts an exhibit at the architecture center every 6 weeks.
tours: the foundation offers an array of architecture tours of houston. There are nine tours that rotate saturdays in october through may. One tour is held each saturday with approximately 10-20 attendees per tour.
gingerbread build-off: during 2014 the organization held the fourth annual competition for architects to build structures using gingerbread. 32 teams competed this year.
