Mission: Horticultural association of Bhutan (HoAB) established association founded in 2019 by Mr. Tshering Wangchuk for the promotion and development of horticulture in the country. The association is trying its utmost to transform its vision into reality. In the present context of horticultural development and hi-tech horticultural -business strategy of the country, the association has geared up its activities to take up the challenges as the important center for development of horticulture through plant and nature conservation, bringing people to nature, research and development, education, training and information technology. Consultancy, training, awareness programs, and technical services are the prime activities of the garden in addition to generating more plantations and preserving the extinct and endangered species that have been planted many years back. HoAB goal is to bring people to nature. Association is working hard to protect and conserve plants and their ecosystems. Protecting and preserving our environment is one of our foremost agendas which is also a one of the pillars of gross national happiness. In a way this led to promotion of GNH. Through our social service activities and public programs we strive to inspire and educate a broad community that values horticulture for the benefits it brings to the environment, our locality and in our everyday lives. We inspire people to be good environmental friends through responsible use of natural resources. The association takes various Initiatives to promote, protect and plan for the development of horticulture in the country. Through its educational programs, awards, and publications, the association connects people to gardening to help raise awareness of earth-friendly gardening practices, introduces children to plants and showcases the art and science of horticulture to nation as well as to international through participants in horticulture expo events.
Target demographics: The Horticulture Association of Bhutan conducts various events annually, to educate and inspire gardeners. Each summer the AHS conducts the National Children and Youth Garden Symposium, which is a forum for educators, garden designers, community leaders, and children’s gardening advocates to network and collaborate on techniques and practices to engage children with the natural world. Education is further instilled in the Society’s internship program, which hires interns in editorial/communications, member programs, and horticulture.

Our social service and public programs educate and inspire, growing a broad community that values horticulture for the benefits to our environment, our neighborhoods, and over all our lives.
