My daughter joined Horses of Hope a year ago when she was only 2 years ago. She suffers from a very rare brain condition which has left her significantly handicapped, visually impaired and unable to communicate. The director, volunteers, trainers and of course the horses are amazing!! The bond she has with her horse is indescribable. Her trainer goes above and beyond to make sure Annie gets the most out of each session. When you witness Annie and Pumpkin together, it is as though you are witnessing a miracle in progress. The two of them are connected in a way Annie has not been able to connect with anybody else. Since she began riding she has made great progress. Her core strength has increased dramatically. She uses her vision to hold onto the horse and grab the therapy toys in the trees. She not only uses more verbal sounds but she is also using sign language. She has shown a connection and a bond with her horse and her trainer. She is learning to use all of her senses. Most importantly, Horses of Hope has given us hope for Annie. Hope that so many had tried to take away. Horses of Hope brings Annie joy - complete joy.
