Mission: Too often a good idea never reaches beyond narrow borders and is lost forever, and too often valuable time, energy and money are spent to develop a solution when a solution that could be applied to the problem at hand already exists. By sharing knowledge about successful initiatives International reduces wasteful duplication of time, effort and funding spent searching for answers already available and enables people to find answers when they are needed.
Programs: The Horizon Solutions Site at http://www.solutions-site.org, a collaborative program with UNDP, UNEP, UNFPA, Unicef, the IDRC, Yale and Horizon's colleagues at Harvard, presents answers to problems in environment, health, population and development, articles and exhibits. The Horizon Solutions Site for Kids of All Ages, http://www.solutions-site.org/kids is an interactive, multimedia feature of the Solutions Site. Horizon is working to advance protection of coral reefs through its multimedia and multifaceted Magic Porthole? project. A preview is available at http://www.magicporthole.org. Horizon?s internationally broadcast television programs are now available for viewing and downloading on the Web at http://www.horizoninternationaltv.org.The Horizon International Associates Program consists of interns, volunteers and research fellows who serve to improve conditions in the world while providing the Associates a chance to advance their professional opportunities. Associates Program operates with the help of cooperating organizations.
