Causes: Children & Youth, Foster Care
Mission: To enhance and extend the lives of vulnerable populations by tapping the transformative power of intergenerational community living.
Programs: Senior program - the program selects seniors to serve as honorary grandparents. The seniors agree to volunteer at least six hours per week, and in turn receive reduced rent on spacious three-bedroom apartments. These older adults serve as mentors, tutors, companions and "grandparents" for the children - creating a true community of mutual care and support.
foster care and adoption program - the program creates secure, caring homes for children in need of them when family reunification and adoption are not realistic. The organization selects families to parent children in the community they have created.
