Causes: Homeless & Housing, Homeless Shelters
Mission: To provide shelter and meals to the homeless, assist the homeless in moving to stable housing, and to advocate for the rights of homeless individuals and families. Provide overnight shelter and food to people for varying lengths of stay.
Programs: Hope haven provides a continuum of care to homeless individuals and families from dekalb county including emergency shelter, transitional housing for families and permanent housing to chronically homeless individuals with disabilities. Supportive services offered includes meals, case management, life skills, ged, counseling, and referrals. Overnight shelter and food was provided to in excess of 300 people for varying lenghts of time. 25,000 plus nights of shelter and 45,000 meals were provided. The value of volunteer services is estimated to be about about $90,000 per year. The value of volunteer services is not included in the figures. Reported in part i.
