I was wanting a small dog and was looked into adoption instead of breeder. Came across HHCR and original saw another dog was interested in but as I lived in a condo, was not a good fit. Natasha informed me of new arrivals of Havanese dogs, which has been my dream breed. Selected Lucy (formerly Blackie) and picked up her on 06/04/2021. She is very timid and meek, not a social dog, but I'm fine with that, as I was quite the introvert in my younger years. She is such a sweet girl, my mother and I enjoy having her in our lives.
We adopted Ash, an eight week old puppy. He’s such a sweet little boy!! We enjoyed working with Hope Haven very much through our adoption process. They take excellent care of the animals they have in foster care. They are very concerned for the health and safety of their fosters. This is the best experience we’ve ever had with an adopter!
We adopted Winston (now Benji) from HHCR and had a great experience. He has a rough start in life but, because of the work HHCR does, we’re excited to have him as part of our family for a long time. Thank you!
After months of searching, I finally found THE PERFECT fur baby at Hope Haven. I’m in awe of their tireless efforts on behalf of these precious dogs. My Meeko (HHCR Rod) now has the chance to be a “real dog” with his own family, after years of living in captivity. I will always be grateful for this amazing organization.
Tiny Tim has grown these past few months he knows new tricks and he is very active. He brings so much love and happiness in my home. The kids even changed his name from Tiny Tim to Felix since he has gotten so big. We love him sooo much !
Bella has been a blessing in our life, we are so grateful we found her through Hope Haven! Even with the problems getting her with where we live, they were consistent on helping us get all the info for our office. Thank you!
I adopted Anna a few short weeks ago and it has been nothing short of a dream come true! I was searching for months for the perfect furbaby to add to our family and thanks to Hope Haven Canine Rescue, I got my wish! The process from inquiry to adoption via Hope Haven was so simple and cooperative and she made it the easiest transition! I would HIGHLY recommend adopting through here if you can, what she does is short of amazing and is truly appreciated!
Our experience with Hope Haven was very straightforward, timely and user friendly. We found our sweet girl Hazel on Petfinder and sent our application to Hope Haven through that website. Natasha contacted me in a timely manner and we were able to schedule a meet and greet with our puppy in the next few days. The process was easy and straightforward. Natasha answered any questions we had and was friendly, helpful and easy to contact. Hope Haven seems to have a big heart for helping and finding loving homes for their rescue animals.
We rescued sweet Lilly from Hope Haven Canine Rescue on 2/4/2021. She is the perfect addition to our family and we are smitten in every way. Tosha with HHCR was wonderful to work with. She was open to all forms of communication (via phone, text, and email) and was prompt and thorough with her replies. Tosha answered all of my questions clearly and honestly and took the time I needed to make sure that Lilly would be the right fit for our family. In addition, Tosha also sent photos and video, which really showcased Lilly's personality. Lilly was in beautiful condition when we arrived, healthy and clean and trusting. Once we got Lilly home, we found that everything Tosha had shared about Lilly's training and personality was spot-on. We couldn't be happier with our sweet Lilly and are so grateful to Tosha and HHCR for helping us make the perfect match.
We just adopted our new puppy Lincoln from Hope Haven! The adoption process was easy. I think I bugged them more than anything with all of my questions! They were very polite and answered all my questions! Tosha is amazing ! We had rescued a stray cat and I wanted to make sure that the new puppy would be good with cats. We also had never had a dog with hound in them and that made us nervous but Tosha answered all of questions and made us feel confident that our new puppy would be a good fit for our cat and older dog! Hope Haven takes many precautions to ensure the dogs are healthy and in good shape!
We found our new four legged friend with Hope Haven Canine Rescue. Rosco is a wonderful, fun addition to our family! Tosha was excellent to work with. She answered all my questions. We communicated via email, messenger and phone. She sent me updated pics of Rosco whenever I asked. We live out of state so we met Rosco over video chat. Having to fly him here was a hassle due to the airlines and the stay at home orders that were being issued everywhere, but she never seemed to mind. She was super patient and did whatever was needed so we could get Rosco to NH. Hope Haven is a great Rescue league and very easy to work with. Rosco came to us with up to date shots and all his paperwork. He's an awesome pup and we feel blessed to have him in our home. Thank you Tosha!! You're the best!!
It had been a year since the passing of our beloved pittie, Richter. Our hearts were ready to open up to a new puppy. We found Hope Haven through Petfinder and came across Tyson, now known as Popsicle. Natasha was absolutely wonderful during the whole process. She did a wonderful job keeping us updated about Popsicle. All vet trips were documented and current. Thank you Natasha for everything you’ve done to make sure Popsicle could come home to us.
We adopted Trina (now Indy) from Hope Haven Rescue. Our experience was exceptional from beginning to end. Natasha communicated with us throughout the entire process via phone, text and emails. We were able to video “meet” our puppy since we are out of state adopters. The vet care was up to date and well documented with all the paperwork necessary to continue care here at her new home. We highly recommend adopting with Hope Haven Rescue!
We picked up our pup yesterday from Hope Haven, and we couldn’t be happier with our family’s new addition. Natasha was very helpful and kept us informed throughout the whole process. We had a great experience and are enjoying having fun with our new puppy. We named him Rafa, and our daughters who are 2 and 3.5 absolutely love him. We would definitely recommend this rescue to others!
My husband and I adopted Spencer in 2008 from a woman in Mooresville who took dogs from kill shelters, fostered them, and adopted them out on Petfinders. I think she did this with another woman. I wonder if she is behind this non-profit. If so, I hope she sees this and remembers Spencer. He is now 11 1/2 and still is very active and still has a lot of puppy in him. He does this dive and roll when he is being shy with strangers that is so cute. He has more personality than any other dog we have ever had. Now that the kids are grown and out of the house, he gives us more joy than ever. When our kids come back home though, look out! Spencer gets so excited, he can hardly contain himself! Even if it is not the same woman, what this non-profit does is wonderful and I will surely look here for my next dog when the time comes. It is beyond me how anyone can give up a beloved pet other than when death or illness make continued ownership impossible. I have kept every pet until its death and I will certainly begin to take my age into account when I get pets in the future.
We adopted Santana (now Gracie) a week ago, and our experience with Hope Haven was totally positive. Communications were prompt, clear, and responsive. Throughout the entire process of application, visitation and adoption, I was impressed with Natasha’s priority—she always puts the dog first; she is very knowledgeable about dog behavior and needs and dedicated to their well-being. It was a pleasure to work with her!
My 20-year old daughter wanted a puppy. We always rescue, instead of going to breeders. We found Hope Haven online. A Chihuahua named Jane, delivered 8 (I think) puppies. All were white/light-colored except for the tiny little runt, who was brown & black. My daughter instantly fell in love with “Dewey” & just had to have him. We were approved through the application process & picked him up a few weeks later. On day of pick up, all his siblings weighed 2.5-3 lbs. but Dewey being the runt was still just up to 7 oz. but healthy. He took right to my daughter & sure loves his Mommy. Although I LOVED his name, Dewey & would not have changed it, she renamed him, Diglett. Now that they moved into their own home, she drops him off on her way to work every day at my (Mamaw’s) house so I can babysit & he gets to play with my dogs. We wouldn’t trade that boy for the world. His vet said he’s a very lean, healthy boy but will probably stay tiny, as at 2.5 years old, he’s a whopping 3.4lbs! Attached are pics of Diglett at a couple weeks old & now. If anyone that adopted his siblings see this, we would love to see pics of them &/or stay in touch! I recommend Hope Haven to people all the time. Tosha is very sweet, professional & great to work with.
We loved our experience with Hope Haven! The process was so easy, all questions were answered, and communication was easy. They also check in to see how our sweet boy is doing 3 years later :) Hiro was the perfect addition to our family.
Hope Haven Canine Rescue was wonderful. Tosha is very thorough with clients and helpful.
We love our dog! He is a great addition!
We adopted our pup, Finley, from this organization and the entire experience was incredible! You could tell with every interaction that they cared about every animal in their care, whether phone call, email, or Facebook message. Finley has been such a joy to add to our family and we owe it all to this rescue!
We adopted our dog Tucker (then Panda) from this .Org and our pupp is now 5 and still doing great! They are a wonderful organization and Tosha certainly gives her all to it. Worth supporting!!!
This organization has truly blessed our family! We had looked for a long time for a new addition to add to our home. We came accross Butters multiple times in our search and finally decided she was truely meant to be with us. We adopted Butters at the end of November (2018). She is an amazingly sweet little girl but a bit on the shy side. A few weeks into having Butters we felt she would benefit from having another K-9 companion in the house.
We came back to Hope Haven Canine Rescue and also adopted a little fellow name Chesney. Now our home feels complete.
Tosha was great! Good communication, keep us informed with Chesney progress, and made it easy for us to come pick him up.
You could tell with both pups it was a bittersweet moment because they truely care for and love each animal they adopted.
We had a great experience adopting from Hope Haven Canine Rescue! We adopted our dog Pepper as a puppy. The whole litter of puppies were dumped at 5 weeks and she saved them all and found wonderful homes. Thank you for all you do to save all the dogs and puppies you can. Pepper is so spoiled and we love her so much.
I have had the privilege to both work with Hope Haven and to adopt from them. This rescue does a great service pulling animals from kill shelters and vetting them and placing them in loving homes. I was able to adopt one of my beloved babies from Hope Haven and I am truly blessed to have my Angelina. Hope Haven does an awesome job and I would highly recommend them!
We adopted Romy (now Blitz) from Hope Haven Rescue in October 2018. The process was easy and Tosha was great to work with. I love that they take in pregnant mommas/litters and mixed breeds! I’d highly recommend them to those looking to add to their family.
I adopted my baby Bromley boy from Tosha at Hope Haven Canine Rescue in January 2016. I LOVED him sooo MUCH & I LOVED Tosha’s rescue soooo I started fostering for Tosha a few months after I adopted Bromley. I fostered for about a year and a half....I LOVED it, but life got too HECTIC and UNFORTUNATELY i’m NOT able to foster at this time
Hope Haven canine Rescue is the best rescue around! Having explained to the owner why I wanted a dog and what temperament I was looking for, she said she had the perfect dog for me and my family. And indeed she did! My Carlie (formerly Chardonnay) has been nothing but the perfect companion for myself and she especially is mindful of the needs of my autistic grandson. I would never go elsewhere to adopt a dog and hope to foster for the owner when I retire in a year.
I adopted my Malinois mix from hope haven when he was 9 weeks old. Smooth adoption process and easy contract. I update her often on how Ace is doing and she seems to like it. If I wanted another mixed breed, I’d definitely look at hope haven again.
After losing my two best k9 friends within a two year period I began my search for another. Upon coming across Hope Haven I knew I had found my match in my search:). Excellent well cared for animals that have been rescued. These k9s are only to be adopted into loving homes. A job well done by Tosha. Highly recommend this rescue to anyone in search of a best friend.
We was introduced to Hope Haven rescue through a family member we adopted Max he was an awesome little guy not so little anymore. This was the first time we had adopted a pup from a rescue but the experience was such a good experience Tosha truly loves and cares about each and every animal she saves. I wouldn’t know what to do with this crazy guy.
We adopted Jane (previously named Tessy) from Hope Haven, and we had the best experience! The woman in charge is definitely driven to find safe and loving homes for all the animals she takes into her rescue. She answered all of our questions and was very professional and accommodating. I’m so happy we found Hope Haven!
We found Ash aka Ruby thru Hope Haven. Up until her spay we received pics and updates as often as we wanted. The day we picked her up we fell in love. She has completed our family. Tosha made the process easy on us and we could not be more grateful.
I called Hope Haven Canine Rescue because I had seen a Shih Tzu on their website. I called about him and was told I could meet him the very same night and if interested in him, I could fill out an application for him and I could possible pick him up in two days. I met with a lady that had the Shih Tzu with her. The poor dog was cold at shivering and it bothered me so I paid her the adoption fee, ($200.00), and took him home with me. Our meeting was at a gas station because we had agreed on a half way distance for the two of us. I was given paper work the night I took him home, but did not look at them until the next day. Nothing was recent. After several emails to Hope Haven and being told one lie after another, I decided to take him to my Vet. While in the Vet's office the dog attacked the Vet assistant. The Vet told me this dog was very aggressive and that his advice was not to keep the dog and to take him to the humane shelter. Not only was the dog aggressive, he was sick. Hope Haven gave him to me on Sunday, ( 12/9/2018), and I had him until ( 12/14/2018, when I had to surrender to the Humane Society Animal Shelter. I only had him five days and I was hurt so much because I was getting attached to him. I am all for giving to nonprofit rescues, jut give to ones who are honest. His rabies vaccine had expired.
I would think that people that run a canine rescue would be compassionate caring people, that was not my experience. We found a dog we fell in love on their rescue site, after several emails, we decided this was the pet for us. The person called me to set up an appointment. She told me to bring the rehoming fee because if we wanted her she would go home with us that day!! We were so excited! We were told we would receive an email the day before our appointment with the address and all information we would need. Two days before our appointment we received an email that “our” dog had been adopted, but were we interested in some other dog? I was outraged and emailed immediately! I was told that I should have received an email stating all dogs were still up for adoption until finalized. I did get that email and assumed they send that so they wouldn’t have to put the dog up for adoption again if we changed our mind or didn’t show up for our appointment. She responded that they don’t “hold” dogs. I do NOT feel that making an appointment to pick up a dog is asking them to “hold” it. The woman I spoke to on the phone gave no indication that there was an urgency to us coming. She did not say “if you are really interested you should come immediately”, or anything to make us believe if we didn’t come that day she could be adopted away from us. I told them that this practice is not only unethical but just plain mean! We were so looking forward to welcoming a new pet this is just awful! We will find a pet another way. We were trying to do the right thing by taking in a pet in need! So disappointed,
