Wow, what a great service! Hooks home bound helped me get out of a bind when hurricane Hilary disabled my vehicle and I needed to get my dog to the vet. Vet appointments are often booked out several weeks so rescheduling can be very difficult. The lovely couple running the organization were a joy to talk to on the trip to the appointment as well. Thank you so much for providing a much needed service to the morongo basin!
I have been proud to donate money to this non-profit! I have known many different shelters and rescue facilities and Hooks Home Bound Rescue is top notch in comparison! They take their job of rescuing, caring for, and placing pets in new homes, very seriously. They also follow these pets throughout their life to ensure health and safety. They really go the extra mile. They also donate food, blankets and other items to people when needed which I think puts them in a class by themselves. One of the things that I really love about them, is their financial support of veterans with adoption fees when it comes to providing them with much needed companions. I highly recommend Hooks Home Bound Rescue and hope that you adopt from them, as well as donate, as they are the quintessential worthy cause.
I wanted to get a compadre for Eddy, my beadox (beagle doxie) cause he's a young guy and I'm an old lady, on a walker and I thought he might like having a pal to do stuff with. And I was hoping to get somebody that liked riding in the truck with me. I had a lengthy conversation with Blaze about our home and situation, and he came with two dogs that were possible matches. He was able to sum everything up, and explain several things I would never have figured out about Eddy, and me. My two best friends were there also, to make sure I wasn't taking on more than I could handle. They, too, were so impressed with Blaze. One of my friends, who was recently widowed, will go back to them if she decides she'd like to have a dog again. Eddy was telling the other dog he didn't like his behavior, and I'm sitting there like a bump on a log. Eddy is the pack leader here, and I've got to learn to be more assertive. We didn't make any matches for Eddy but the three of us old gals were certainly impressed and will return. Everyone one was putting the dogs first, and that's the way it should be.
I was in desperate need of help to get my puppy spayed,it is so expensive, and Pat @ Route 66 helped me through his organization, and I was able to get my Trixi spayed, she is all healed up and doing great, thank you Pat,you are greatly appreciated
Thank you Hooks Services!! We could not get Bing (male domestic feline, aged 20+) from our place (Palm Springs) to his vet (Companion Clinic, Yucca Valley, 45 min away). I cannot thank you enough, Hooks Home Bound, on behalf of Bing and his humans, gratitude to HHBR for helping him reach a trusted office/doctor, using a transport service ("rescue"!), likewise trusted...
Truly Hooks Home Bound rescued us by helping Bing reach the care he needed ; they kept us humans updated every step of the way ; communicated with the Clinic; their pick-up arrived early (in safe clean vehicle, putting safety first) ; provided receipts immediately; explained things clearly; communicated excellent well with client (exhibiting patience and compassion, as needed), offering solutions; online forms were easy to fill out; everything's organized...
Hooks volunteers greet Bing by name, too... and so we are left with feelings of deep gratitude. Indeed, we could not trust Bing to a stranger, not easily. With HHBR there is no stranger: but rather, Rescuer, Friend.
I met Hooks Homebound Rescue at an adoption event at Tractor Supply in Yucca Valley Ca. There I met Allie, a 4 month old chichuahua who I immediately fell in love with. Everyone was so kind and knowledgeable and made my adoption of Allie go smoothly. You can tell they really care about the animals and want them to go to good homes. They are very thorough in the paperwork and questions. Thank you to everyone. We are very happy with our new addition to the family.
Hooks Home Bound Rescue is hands down the best place to call when you need help. Not only do they rescue animals, they help out people too. I was in a situation where I could not afford groceries and they came thru for me. Drove an hour just to deliver food for me and my family. And I have seen countless numbers of dogs and cats being rescued from cruelty situations to owner releases and found amazing furever homes. They are a non-profit and are very disciplined when it comes to placing their animals and always follow thru throughout the life of that animal. They are amazing!
This morning my chuaweenie was attacked by some dogs and I called HHBRescue to please come out and check my baby. They responded quickly and were very friendly. I highly recommend them.
This is a great rescue! Great volunteers, and you can see the love for the animals. Working non stop to rescue. I met them at an adoption event and will soon be putting in my volunteer paperwork. I’m also a groomer and their dogs look great!
I met the crew of Hooks Home Bound Rescue at an adoption event in PetSmart.
Very nice and knowledgeable. My friend even adopted one of their pups Vawn. Love their adoption process, and All their cute rescues.
They are very committed and dedicated to saving animals!
This is the BEST non profit! My son passed away and lived off the grid to rescue dogs. Hooks Home Bound Rescue stepped up when no one would help me save the dogs. Blaze Thall and his helpers spent 2 days, 15 hours total to save them! It was a very dangerous dirt road full of sharp curves, rocks and 115 degree heat 8,000 feet in the California desert. I have witnessed so many of their rescues since and they so deserve an award for their heroic efforts in saving animals!
