Trailsthe perimeter and several nature garden areas provide trails for hiking. These areas are kept in their natural condition as much as possible. However, each year the association is responsible for weed abatement of the brush within two hundred feet of homes and other structures. This consists of power disking and hand trimming the dry brush to mitigate fire hazard. Although trees are left in their natural condition as much as possible, their proximity to homes and structures often requires trimming or removal for safety reasons. Concrete swales directing drainage must be kept clear of debris to prevent erosion and flooding. Approximately 35 of the use and resources are devoted here. Vegetable gardena section of one of the parks has been developed and reserved for raised vegetable gardens. Perimeter fencing to keep out animals surrounds it and water is supplied for the plants. About 5 of the use and resources are accounted for here. These activities are overseen by a volunteer board of directors and various volunteer committee members. They continue to monitor the use of the areas and direct resources and improvements as they see the needs develop.
