One of the Greatest Blessings for me was to have friends (Jim and Kathy) who started Senior Alliance for Empowerment. There no way I could tell you ALL the people who have been helped by SAFE! I am one of them! We are all surrounded by seniors, veterans and people who are in need. Because of their hard work and dedication, SAFE, has been given grant money that has helped hundreds and maybe thousands in the Conejo Valley! I received a much needed new air conditioner/heater, for my 1958 trailer/mobilehome. My porch and steps were rotting and very unsafe. Working along side Habitat for Humanity, SAFE made sure all of it was repaired! Many seniors and veterans live in older mobile homes and many have been helped because of SAFE! My neighbor received all new windows, another neighbor got a new roof and another all new windows. SAFE has provided walkers, wheel chairs, scooters and health and safety equipment for the disabled, etc. SAFE has been recognized by the City of Thousand Oaks for their many contributions. They work closely with the Mayor, and City Council to improve the standard of living for Seniors in The Conejo! SAFE is an advocate for low income and very low income seniors, and they have been responsible for changes in city codes/ordinances, and rent control to benefit low-income seniors and veterans who live in the Conejo Valley. In 2017 SAFE won a court settlement between residents and the owner of the mobile home park. The 43 members (some include Holocaust survivors, World War II and other veterans and disabled folks) are protected from furtther rent increases for the remainder of their lives or until their home is sold. “This settlement allowed the most fragile of our community to live the remainder of their lives free from stress of being on welfare or becoming homeless.” https://www.vcstar.com/story/news/local/communities/conejo-valley/2017/09/19/court-approves-class-action-settlement-between-residents-owner-t-o-mobile-home-park/681522001/ SAFE has been recognized many times in The Acorn and The Star for their many charitable accomplishments. They are providing for seniors all across the Conejo Valley, PLEASE support them! Please donate to them! Please let folks know about them! I have lived here for 45 years and I can tell you the Conejo Valley is blessed to have the Senior Alliance for Empowerment! Thank you Kathy and Jim and all the board members and people who are involved in this amazing organization!!!
Jim, Kathy and Richard did an amazing job keeping on top of everything. I am so grateful to them and the organization for helping me get an air conditioner. Thanks to everyone involved for getting this job done. Have a great holiday season. Elizabeth

Jim and Kathy are very friendly and down to earth. My mobile home is a 1968 and has never had air conditioning. They helped with the process of getting a window unit installed in my living room and it makes all the difference.
Was so nice to work with very caring and helpful people like those two. I could tell they enjoyed what they do. They were very patient and helpful. I can't say enough about them, or the organization.
I live in a small mobile home made of metal and poorly insulated. For over three years I have
had no heating or air conditioning. I am elderly and on social security. There is no way that
I could afford such costs and still afford my food, medicines and housing. Thank the Lord for
SAFE! This wonderful charity furnished me with a brand new Lennox heating and air conditioning system at no cost to me! What a blessing to be able to live in comfort again.

A couple of years ago I was wondering how I could afford new windows in my 42 year old mobile home on only social Security income. I talked to neighbors that work with S.A.F.E. about it and several months later I was very grateful to learn that I would be getting all new windows at no cost to me!! What a wonderful organization that helps we seniors! I can’t thank them enough!
After moving 4 times in 2 years because landlord situations changed I was able to buy in the Ranch senior mobile home Park. A small place but one where I was not at the whim of the folks who owned my accommodations. It was not air conditioned except for an old, small window unit in the bedroom. After finding out about S.A.F.E. I applied for some relief from the summer heat that was already approaching. Jim came to assess my needs and immediately got back to me about what could be done. I felt heard! In no time Jim called to say the air conditioner unit had been delivered. This summer has been brutal but not for me thanks to Jim,Kathy and S.A.F.E.!
For three years, I have had no heat or air conditioning in my mobile home. Thank God
for SAFE. Our city has experienced temperatures in the nineties and days up to
112 degrees. Very dangerous for the elderly like myself as I am 91 years old. I even
have some of my friends and neighbors over to stay cool. I can't say enough about
these wonderful people who work to get grants and donations. Most impressive is
that SAFE is a 100% VOLUNTEER nonprofit charity.
I was so appreciative of S.A.F.E. Making it possible to get all new windows in my 43 year old mobile home! Going from single pane aluminum to double pane white vinyl windows looks so good!! The double pane doesn’t totally stop all the heat, but it’s a lot better than the single pane.
I can’t thank SAFE enough for helping me out!!
I have been familiar with S A F E for approximately 7years. They are truly a non profit as everyone works without being paid. I am very low income and they have helped me with a leaking roof and air conditioning. They have improved the lives of many people besides myself.
Through Kathy & Jim's help and guidance filling forms out etc I was able to get 4 new windows for my 1975 year old mobile home. I never thought I would see the day when I would have windows that keep the outside air out of my house when they are closed. I have become so accustomed to being too cold or too hot due to older windows that were not installed to be air tight so my appreciation is at at all time high.
Once the application part started Kathy & Jim handled all my questions and concerns. ( Recall now, this was during the pandemic)
Two days ago my windows were installed and my home is the most comfortable it has ever been in the 19 years I have lived here. Without the help of SAFE this would never have happened. I will turn 83 in 2 months and as I have gotten older I do not acclimate to uncomfortable temperatures as I did in the past.
I commend SAFE for not only making me comfortable but contributing to my health and well being.
Thank you everyone who was involved in this project.
Very Sincerely,
Bev Waldron
I've worked with a number of non-profits for many years and SAFE is without doubt the best I have been associated with. Jim and Kathy spend a tremendous amount of time helping needy seniors living in mobile home parks, obtain what they need, be that a new roof, replace a water heater, o get a new paint job. The process is very "tedious" since their are funds involved and lots of paperwork to complete.. But they work through the maze and accomplish amazing things. The people I meet that they have helped consider them angels from Heaven.

This 501c3 nonprofit charity is 100% volunteer. They provided me with a new roof which
I could not possibly afford. Now I can stay in my home! I am 83 years old on social security. SAFE was a Godsend for me. I later found out they have provided the elderly senior community with hundreds of thousands of dollars to allow out generation to remain in
our homes instead of being forced into homelessness or public welfare.
