Mission: Helping Hands for Helpless Paws, Inc. was organized by Barbara Sabatie and Jo Leight. We have been volunteering at the Edison Animal Shelter together for over 9 years together getting animals adopted from our shelter on Saturdays. Our goal is to eliminate euthanization and promote adopting from shelters and emphasizing the need for spaying and neutering. We use Purebreed Rescue Forces to help us get the animals out of the shelter and into foster homes or permanent homes. We make donations to every Rescue that has helped us place an animal. We are trying to institute a low cost spaying and neutering program for Edison Animal Shelter and would like to try to have air conditioning installed at our shelter and possibly better heating. We have our own Website under Petfinders.com and post all animals up for adoption at Edison Animal Shelter on our web page as Edison Animal Shelter is not registered with Petfinders and does not post the pets for adoption. We have fostered animals ourselves in our own homes and really care about not having animals euthanized. Edison Animal Shelter is funded through the Township so that is why we decided to form this organization so that our funds could be used to better things at the shelter.
