Helping hands behavioral outreach is a unique and highly successful peer-mediated respite program. Individuals are grouped according to age, abilities and interests. It's primary focus is teaching necessary life skills, utilizing behavior analytic principles that are known to be effective when working with children and teens with autism and developmental disabilities. Helping hands is to help children with autism and other developmental disabilities further develop social skills, interpersonal skills and self-esteem in a unique recreational setting emphasizing a peer model approach.
