Mission: Helping hand association's (the haven's) mission is to provide effective affordable treatment based upon the client's motivation rather than their ability to pay for treatment.
Programs: Residential treatment program - for the 2016-17 fiscal year, the association treated 129 people for drug and alcohol dependency at its residential facility in salt lake city, known as the haven. Of this number, 91 completed the full treatment program. Treatment varies by individual, with the average length of stay being about 88 days. An important part of treatment is recreational therapy, which shows patients that they can enjoy life without using drugs.
transitional housing program - the association owns three apartment buildings for individuals who have completed residential treatment. The program provides low-cost housing and ongoing support while clients work their way back to normal life. The program is important in the overall success of the individuals who have undergone treatment. In the 2016-17 fiscal year, 184 clients were served through transitional housing.
