I have known Kerry for a few years and she puts animals and others needs first. Her rescue takes animals that others would have or have given up on. No animal gets turned away. I can't imagine all the tears and heartache she has seen over the years. Truly the most compassionate person I know. The world needs more people like her and more rescues like hers.

This rescue is amazing. They help the animals that need it most. The old and the disabled. They show them love that they normally wouldn’t get. I’ve never seen a group of people more committed to loving and caring for animals as this bunch. They take these unwanted animals and make them into the pet everyone would want. The rehibilation they provide along with the nurturing and care. It’s astounding and more rescues could learn from them.

My husband and I contacted this rescue to bring home a cat. We ended up bringing home two :) The cat we had picked out had bonded with another cat and we couldn't bear to separate them. Kerry was very knowledgeable and made sure the cats were spayed and up to date on their shots. We were so happy with our experience that several months later we adopted a third cat. This completes our fur baby family but if we were ever in the position to adopt another animal we would get it from Heart of Earth. Kerry's love for animals is evident in all she does ♡

My wife and I have gotten 3 cats from the Heart of the earth sanctuary. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I highly recommend them.

This is a selfless rescue that helps those in most need, not those that will be easily adopted. They hold true to the sactuary component of the rescue if staying is best for the animal. All the animals are loved and cared for in a home environment and afforded any necessary veterinary services. Amazing work happens on a daily basis. So many animals have been truly blessed!

I have known Kerry for 20 yrs now and she has always rescued. I have known her to go through brier patches to save kittens. She is a single mother, full-time employee and runs the rescue. Kerry squeezes more hours into one day than most. She gives these special needs animals a quality of life they have never had. I wish people could see whats on the inside of these souls and see that they just want a little love and comfort, no matter what there appearance. Please be kind and support your local shelters.

Heart of the Earth Sanctuary rescued my pet pig, Pearl. My home was foreclosed and I needed to find a home for Pearl. It means so much to me that she is in a kind and loving home. She is doing so good with them!!!

This sanctuary goes above and beyond for the animals they rescue. They are an amazing group of people and have helped SO many. Very compassionate, these people truly love animals.

I've never encountered a rescue that gives more time, care, and attention to the animals that they save. Each listing is detailed and honest. Kerry sacrifices so much for the dogs and cats (and even the occasional farm animal) in her care.

there are no words I can say that can accurately describe the dedication and love for animals that this rescue exhibits! I know personally they obstacles they are willing to climb to help an animal in need. You guys are amazing!

I can't say enough about this fabulous group! As a fellow animal lover, it warms my heart to read about what HOTE has done and continues to do for animals is need. There are so many abused, neglected and abandoned animals in the world and HOTE is doing an amazing job of helping as many as possible. Always happy to donate to this more than worthy cause!

I have never known a better organization for precious souls than Heart of the Earth Sanctuary. Kerry and her team are the only ones I know that have left their homes in the middle of the night to collect orphaned kittens, abandoned dogs, and such. I proudly recommend them every time!

The Heart of the Earth is the best! Not only do they rescue just about every type of domesticated animal, they also help rescue people. I adopted a puppy from them after tragically losing my dog. This pup is now an emotional support dog! I deal with mental health issues, and Kerry was there to help me find the right pup for me! I can't imagine my every day Life without my Joy Joy dog!

Heart of the Earth is amazing, Kerry and her animal loving crew are the voice for so many wonderful animals who were passed by because of special needs. Kerry works with these animals to help them have a better quality of life, better health and social skills some were never given. Kerry works hard to make sure everyone of her rescues are loved, living in a warm and clean environment while doing the same for her family which also have incorporated her love of animals and help out. Many rescues take in dogs and
Cats but how many have the ability to take in dogs, cats, pigs, (yes pigs...they have 2!) and other farm animals? And they are working on improving their location to help rescue even more large animals like horses and cows. And Kerry takes on special needs animals...the ones no one wants, the ones who would be left to die, the ones who aren’t adoptable to to their needs but who deserve a safe, loving home just like every other animal. Kerry does that for them. She and her family do amazing work with all these animals. Heart of the Earth is an amazing sanctuary!

Animals cant talk..they are precious gifts and loyal members for alot of families. Unfourtanally because of some people animals become homeless,Born to survive on what they can find. Food,shelter ect. They are scared. Some are dumped off in places becsuse thier owners dont want them anymore. Then they are confused they don't understand what they did wrong. The heart of earth sanctuary and rescuse have given these animals a chance. A chance to live with love, full bellys.proper vet care and free roamimg .They have rescued old animals and very young. As young as a newborn kittens who needs bottle fed every 2 hours. Thats difficult in itself. Its constant cleaning,vetting. And alot of expence. But they always make sure they are loved. Always trying to find new loving homes . there is not a day that goes by that I dont admire this rescue. I donate when i can. Donations are important. It helps to keep the rescue running. So please donate. As if it wasn't for the rescues these prechious animals would be left to die and fend for themselves. Heart of earth gives every animal a chance! Thanks for everything you do.

Heart of the Earth is what every rescue organization should strive to be. The animals are well cared for in a home environment where they are socialized and all of their special needs are met. Kerry and her associates are really loving and caring people who always put the animals needs first. I am very proud to be involved.

This rescue is doing a phenomenal job with what they’re doing with their animals. They want to give their animals forever homes and all their animals will make amazing pets. They go out of their way to do their best and they are the best people out there!

I have had the honor of knowing Kerry Shoemaker, Heart of the Earth Sanctuary and Rescue president, and working alongside her in animal care and rescue for nearly 10 years. She and her family have dedicated their lives and home to providing a safe haven for animals. They take in healthy animals as well as sick ones; the old and the young; canine, feline, avian and even porcine! If an animal is in need, Kerry and Heart of the Earth Sanctuary and Rescue go above and beyond to help it. Many of the animals in the rescue are adoptable. Kerry has partnered with a regional organization - PURRS - to find excellent forever homes for the adoptable cats that end up in Heart of the Earth. This initiative enables Kerry to make room for other animals in need. In addition to adoptable animals in the rescue, Kerry and Heart of the Earth volunteers provide veterinary care and a loving forever home for elderly and disabled animals. These animals are able to live out their natural lives in the Heart of the Earth Sanctuary and Rescue.

As a volunteer helping animals with special needs it is heart warming to see them open up and allow their personalities to shine. Having a safe loving environment they can truly be themselves and also be part of the pack. It is a beautiful feeling when you help the joy of life return to their eyes. If it were not for this rescue, most of these animals would have been euthanized but now they have the opportunity to find furever homes.
