Programs: Hria's community health division reaches over 100,000 individuals annually, working with healthcare institutions, public agencies, philanthropy, and community-based organizations to improve population health and reduce health inequities. Core services include capacity building assistance (e. G. , training, ta, consultation); research and evaluation (e. G. , assessment, research, program evaluation, and quality improvement); and grant making for community health initiatives. The community health division also operates programs relating to youth development and substance use prevention and treatment, and serves as fiscal sponsor to several partner nonprofit organizations. hria's medical foundation division works with private individuals, family foundations, bank trusts, and corporations to design customized grant programs that fund outstanding biomedical research and investigation. By bringing together the vision of our clients and the commitment of our scientific reviewers, we support medical discoveries with the potential to improve the lives of millions. For each client program, hria designs application guidelines, announces the program to potential applicants, establishes the scientific review committee, accepts applications through an online system, manages the review process, and handles award recipient correspondence. In 2017, on behalf of our clients, the medical foundation awarded more than $20 million in new grants to over 100 postdoctoral fellows, junior faculty, and independent research scientists worldwide.
