Our web site also brings attention to our organization, programs and member artists and provides information on resources for artists and those interested in crafts. In 2000 we were designated the lead managing partner in an arts enterprise project- an arts center located in downtown Honolulu. This opportunity allowed us to expand our presence in the community and to offer expanded programming to our membership and the public. The location and the collaborative nature of this venture will also further our goals of increasing our exposure to new communities, thus increasing our membership and our base of financial support. George Ellis, Director of the Honolulu Academy of Art, describes our group as "one of the most professional active organizations of its kind in the nation." Hawai`i Craftsmen serves working artists and has been instrumental in creating public appreciation, perception, and awareness of the visual arts in our state."
