Mission: The mission of the corporation is to facilitate affordable housing, community development facilities and economic development throughout the state of hawaii by providing innovative financing, training, and consulting services to public and private organizations.
Programs: Hcrc and subsidiaries have assisted 3,508 affordable rental housing units with funding of $205. 5 million through its affordable housing loan participation program. The corporation has provided 7 small business loans totaling $3. 6 million through the sba 504 loan program (withdrew in 2015) and 203 energy efficiency loans totaling $4. 8 million through the dbedt greensun loan loss reserve program. Additionally, in 2016 hcrc granted $789,474 to the university of hawaii foundation to fund an endowment to establish the hawaii community reinvestment corporation distinguished professorship in affordable housing.
