Mission: Haven house services strengthens youth and young adults through effective programs, advocacy and community mobilization.
Programs: Basic center - wrenn - provides temporary shelter for youth in crisis and homeless situations. Safeplace is a component of this program and provides firestations et cetera for access to obtain immediate help & outreach. Provided temporary emergency shelter to 140 youth; provided group mentoring,crisis telephone counseling, referral and aftercare services to youth and their families.
multi-systemic therapeutic services - served 60 families in an evidence-based treatment program to strengthen the family unit and ensure that youth can successfully remain in their homes. Youth involved in the mst program are often having significant abuse issues, substance abuse issues and/or aggressive/antisocial behaviors that are characterized as delinquency.
2nd round/gang outreach - the program served 150 involved in or at-risk of becoming involved in negative behaviors that include delinquent/criminal activity, gang activity, substance abuse, verbal/physical aggression, and/or school suspensions. Boxing, weight training, and other forms of exercise are provded to teach youth self-disclipine, team work, leadership, healthy living, and other pro-socialization elements. Gang outreach services are also provided, using a combination of community engagement and case management to help curb gang activity in youth. Gang outreach served 40 clients individually and impacted over 2,368 individuals.
