Mission: To offer educational and recreational opportunities that develop self-confidence, inspire a passion for learning, and encourage an appreciation for the natural environment.
Programs: The core of hale's programming focuses on giving children and families' opportunities to be outside and active on our 1,137 acres of trails, ponds and woods. Among the programs offered, hale facilitates summer camp experiences for more than 4,400 children each summer, and school year programs for an additional 8,800 children. These opportunities reach 75 communities in greater boston, and more than 25% of attendees come from boston itself. In addition to our camp and educational programs, hale offers recreational opportunities to families through our membership beach, public access and rental programs. As hale looks ahead to its 100th anniversary in 2018, programmatic goals include growth of our partnerships with boston public schools to offer unique, enriching opportunities for boston youth.
