Causes: Health, Specifically Named Diseases Research
Mission: To increase global awareness of spinal muscular atrophy (sma), the #1 genetic killer of young children, accelerate research focused on ending this cruel disease, and support families impacted by sma and other life-altering conditions.
Programs: Consistent with its mission, in 2017 the gwendolyn strong foundation (gsf) provided targeted funding to accelerate sma research, created unique web based sma awareness campaigns reaching millions of people globally, granted technology devices to increase the quality of life for those with sma, created technology to assist with communication, and provided financial support and assistance to those impacted by sma.
