Mission: Improving the quality of indigent capital defense in Texas and Louisiana, particularly in Harris County, Texas, the most lethal jurisdiction in America.
Results: This year GRACE increased its staff with a new Staff Attorney, new casework fellows, a new Deputy Executive Director, and Development Director. We're better than ever and these changes have already started to reflect in our life-saving work.
Programs: Gulf region advocacy center represents prisoners facing capital prosecution and provides training for other attorneys in capital defense cases.

I believe GRACE is a wonderful organization that makes a significant difference in the criminal justice system. I have volunteered for GRACE for a year and a half, and I have learned more than I could have possibly hoped. I plan on staying at GRACE for the foreseeable future. I truly believe GRACE has helped to better the criminal justice system and I know that GRACE has taught me invaluable lessons and will continue to do so. I recommend this organization wholeheartedly.
GRACE is a fantastic organization! I've been volunteering with them for the past 18 months, and have learned so much and really felt like I was making a difference. I plan to continue working with GRACE in the future, as well. It's really been a life-changing experience for me--it has actually affected the way I view the world.
