Causes: Neighborhood & Block Associations
Mission: To continue an action plan that builds on the assets of the community to bring about a stronger, cleaner and safer neighborhood and to create a fun place to live, work and play.
Programs: Community organizing: this program promotes an awareness of the social, economic, and educational needs of the greektown community through various outreach programs.
economic development: this program is geared towards expanding housing development and increasing business opportunities in the greektown community.
public safety and quality of life: these programs aim to enhance public safety by eliminating loitering, drugs, gang violence, and hazardous living conditions from the greektown community with the assistance of off-duty police officers, monitoring devices, and municipal and maryland state officials. In addition, these programs attempt to maintain a high standard for zoning, housing codes and sanitation; and work with the city and state government to enforce zoning laws pertaining to the above.
