Mission: To prevent substance abuse among youth and young adults in northwest colorado.
Programs: Current goals for grand futures prevention coalition are to: 1) educate and build awareness around alcohol, tobacco and other drug (atod) issues; 2) to introduce, promote and support policies around atod aimed at establishing positive community norms; 3) to influence youth to make positive choices related to atod use; and 4) to build organizational capacity. The bulk of programming targets the approximately 7,400 school-aged youth, with particular emphasis on the 3,715 youth grades 6-12, their parents and the communities in grand, moffat and routt counties. Grand futures prevention coalition serves the entire 14th judicial district in colorado, with an approximate population of 52,000 people.
