Mission: Grace institutes mission is to empower underserved women in the new york area to achieve employment and economic self-sufficiency. Within a supportive and structured environment, grace institute provides job-skills training, counseling, placement services and continuous learning opportunities that lead to upwardly mobile employment. Grace institute offers these services so that participants can realize their inherent strength, resilience and limitless potential.
Programs: Grace institute served 331 women through our workforce training programs, and successfully graduated 256 (78%). We will place 80% of our graduates in careers in a variety of industries including health care, legal, hospitality and nonprofit. Our graduates will increase their personal income five-fold after completing the program. Grace institute of new york , inc. Began formal operations on october 1, 2016, as part of a legal reorganization undertaken by grace institute, the historic entity founded in 1897, to transfer its workforce development programs into a new legal not-for-profit 501c(3) corporation, ("grace institute of new york", dba as "grace institute"). This action resulted in the creation of a modern governance vehicle for carrying grace institutes programs forward, while allowing the original entity to focus on the stewardship of its assets and the continued financial support of gi-ny, but on a prescribed, arms-length basis.
