This non-profit organization addresses everyday life issues for children and adults. Although its focus is on adverse childhood syndrome prevention - its methodology and hands-on immersive curriculum is a portal for leadership, self-development, prevention, advocacy, career development, health and wellness, and healthy relationship development (family, peer, community).

This organization’s Founder and CEO Donna Marie Romani has selflessly and fervershly devoted herself to develop, fund and deliver a high level quality program for pre-adolescent girls and their families. The program’s growth and expansion happened organically as the girls grew with the program. After 3 years of planning, developing and implementing a stellar and very effective program, backed by science and research founding, Donna Marie and the organization’s vision superseeds what she sought out to do years ago and continues to work diligently to ensure its growth and evolution.

Please consider donating, sponsoring, funding programs and staff, voluteering, and making a difference in the lives of these children and their families. Thank You! MEejie Chaparro-Traverso

The GraceInTheMud model builds "Resilience" to young girls 9-11 using a strong theoretical underpinning in the areas of learning theory, education theory, developmental psychology and applied behavioral health. By providing meaningful experiences in the community and establishing mentoring relationships and ongoing support, GITM addresses the negative health effects of chronic toxic stress as a result of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Girls experience physical, emotional and sexual abuse at twice the rate as boys. These "ACEs" affect the immune system negatively, causing genetic mutations that manifest later in life as chronic illness, depression, substance abuse and violence.
