Global Impact is an affiliate of Anne Arundel - Annapolis Community Emergency Response Team (AAACERT). Many of their members are members of our organization as well and have participated in their community as trainers of emergency preparedness/emergency response materials, as call takers at the Anne Arundel County Emergency Operations Center, and as volunteer actors in our disaster simulations. AAACERT looks forward to a collaborative engagement, sharing mutual opportunities to improve our community and to keep it safe.
While I am one of the founders of this non-profit with a desire to make a difference in the lives of people overseas, I was a little anxious to be involved with our Local Impact Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in partnership with AAACERT. I attended the training provided by AAACERT and found my anxiousness disappear as I became equipped with the knowledge of being prepared to respond. Now, I carry my CERT bag in my car and I am no longer scared to help when needed.
Thank you to the training team at AAACERT for excellent training. Our Local Impact CERT is open to anyone looking to be personally prepared and willing to be a hero to their family, neighbors, and community.
