Mission: The glacier society's mission is to preserve the heritage of the united states' maritime exploration of the polar regions, provide an educational and reference source, and to train and educate youth.
Programs: The glacier society operates as a certified school via its auxiliary vessels, the arctic scout and a motor whaleboat, arctic gayle. The glacier society provides youth training along the east coast. These vessels provide hands-on training for all levels of eagle scouts and sea cadets, k-12 through post graduate, and will continue to educate in the history, legacy and importance of the uss/uscgc glacier.
