Causes: Women, Womens Service Clubs

Mission: The gfwc of north carolina is a member of the general federation of women's clubs and its purpose is to unite member clubs into a statewide charitable organization of volunteers for the promotion of education, community service, fellowship, and leadership development.

Programs: Efforts toward coordinating the state's women's clubs including meetings, convention expenditures, magazine costs and promoting community services programs through arts, conservation, education, home life, international outreach and public issues.

scholarships: sally southall cotton is a four year annual scholarship given to an academic and well-rounded student. Competition is based on the nine district winners which are all interviewed and judged at the annual gfwc-nc state arts festival. Whitener scholarship is a four year annual scholarship awarded to an individual majoring in music. Competition is based on district winners performance and are judged at the annual gfwc-nc arts festival. Greeson-johnson teaching scholarship is a one-time scholarship awarded to an outstanding rising college junior (male or female) who has declared his/her major in education to become a k-12 teacher.

arts festival: held annually, it is a celebration of the arts which is nearly as old as our organization. Competition and various mediums based on district winners are held for both clubwomen and students. Student winners receive scholarships. The one day event is held at campbell university. Winners are from the entire state and it is advertised in our gfwc-nc administration book which local clubs share with their area schools.
