Mission: Provide services to severely physically abused children, children who have been sexually abused or exploited, as well as children who have witnessed violence.
Programs: The primary services focus on intervention, treatment, prevention and training. Our intervention program conducted 624 forensic interviews of child victims who ranged in age from 3 to 18 with 65% of these children younger than 12. The children who were provided services were 87% african american, and 77% of these interviews were conducted because of suspicion of child sexual abuse. In addition to these direct services, the intervention staff conducted training with 412 caseworkers with the department of family and childrens services. The treatment program provided more than 820 therapy sessions with more than 100 children and their families. In addition, the program provided clinical training to 201 therapists from across georgia. The prevention department provided child sexual abuse prevention training to more than 14,000 adults across georgia.
