It has been a pleasure to be part of GSN's work to address the education needs of justice engaged students. I have been mentoring these students for the past 10 years, and I see the struggles they face trying to graduate high school.
I am looking forward to seeing the bill GSN sponsored for the Student Bill of Rights. Hoping this bill will help students stay in school and out of trouble.

I lead a nonprofit focused on advancing community and career connected learning opportunities particularly for students facing real barriers. When I reflect on GSN's history and impact, I recognize and appreciate their steadfast commitment to this work and how they always find ways to get continue doing this work. Sustainability is the most difficult thing to focus on, and the most important.
As a board member of Generation Schools Network (GSN), I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the incredible impact this organization has on education communities. My experience on the board has been both rewarding and inspiring, largely due to the exceptionally dedicated and caring staff who are truly the backbone of this organization.
One of the most remarkable aspects of GSN is its commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive educational environment. At a recent event, I was deeply moved by the genuine passion of GSN’s team members. They are not just fulfilling their roles; they are wholeheartedly invested in connecting every individual—students, educators, and community members—to the resources and support they need to thrive. This dedication is evident in every interaction, and it is clear that the staff genuinely care about the long-term success of those they serve.
GSN's approach to education is both innovative and thoughtful. The organization has established numerous partnerships that are not only strategic but also aligned with their mission to expand the traditional definitions of a "school" ecosystem. These partnerships have allowed GSN to introduce new resources and programs that address the holistic needs of students and educators, going beyond academics to include health, wellness, career readiness, and community engagement.
Moreover, GSN is incredibly mindful about the resources it provides, ensuring they are relevant and impactful. This thoughtful curation of resources is what sets GSN apart from other organizations; they do not simply offer generic solutions but rather tailor their support to meet the unique needs of each school and community they work with.
We have worked with Generation School Network for almost a year as an employee partner. We have engaged in their different career exploration activities such as mock interviews and guest speaking.
The College and Career Readiness Network Manager always made sure we had the space, time and a variety of options to help us create excitement around the culinary field.
One of the students we connected with, mentioned that they didn’t think about a future due to their life experiences. But in collaboration with Generation School Network, the teachers and their school counselors, they now have the opportunity to imagine, process and make future goals.
Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to be apart of a network that works hard to help students see a different possibility for life and reach goals that may have once seemed far away!
Generation Schools Network (GSN) has been life-changing for our school district and life-saving for our students. Following two student deaths due to suicide in 2020 and 2021 and struggling staff from the trauma of COVID, GSN stepped in to develop a funding plan for our school district wellness system. They shepherded us through the grant process and mentored us during implementation. They are consultants, colleagues, and caregivers for the Mancos School District. Thank you! Generation School Network provides real-world opportunities for students to develop their entrepreneurship prowess. We've had the privilege of attending the Entrepreneurship Fair the last three years. Each year, it gets better and better! Generation School Network is supportive, friendly, and truly desires a positive outcome for each student whether they place at the fair or not! Their excitement is contagious! Thanks for supporting our rural communities in this way! We are forever indebted!
Our district has worked with Generation Schools for a couple of years and will continue our work with them. They have worked diligently to secure funds to support our initiatives. The staff is very thoughtful and knowledgeable about the subjects we are addressing with our staff and students. They have been flexible in assisting us with work to address staff and student mental health. The practices brought to our staff will be able to be maintained because of the practical approach.
The approach has been the best I have experienced in my 35 years as an educator.

I have only worked with Generation Schools one time. It was for a highly competitive grant and we were awarded our amount in full. I can confidently say that if they were not involved in the process my school district would have not been selected. I will be a repeat client of theirs as they have been nothing but short of awesome to work with.
They put together an amazing entrepreneurship fair that allowed several different schools to participate together to gain experience in putting together a real business and presenting it to "potential investors" for prize money. There was collective participation from the schools, the workforce centers, community partners, and Generation Schools Network. It was a pleasure to be a part of this event and I look forward to it again next year!
