Generation Green does a lot for Contra Costa County. I love their Contra Costa County Climate Leaders Website. It has a wealth of information that helps you compare how your city is doing vs other cities in the county on many important Environmental Factors. My favorite part is their new interactive map!
This is a very hard working nonprofit, continually working to save the planet. The nonprofit works with governments of cities, and other elected officials to make sure they "do the right thing." The nonprofit encompasses several other nonprofits that do the same thing so that the work will always go on from different angles. This nonprofit reaches out to other groups that are doing the same work, and especially to young people who are needed to carry on the cause.
Generation Green is where I can go to find out not only what I can do personally to live in tune with the environment but where I can find out what is going on locally in the area with other groups and people like me for whom environmentalism is very important. All in one place and so helpful. Thanks, Generation Green!
