Mission Statement
Gateway Food Pantry's mission is reaching the community with God’s love and compassion and meet the physical and spiritual needs of the client.

About This Cause
Gateway Hunger Relief Center is a standalone ministry of Gateway Church of Richmond.
We are a food pantry that feeds 982 families per month. We operate in a Grocery Store like setting, giving our clients choices in what they receive from our shelves. We provide canned and boxed goods, as well as fresh produce, bread, dairy, and meat. We also provide special food bags for children, called food security bags. These bags have specially selected food that is easy for children to open and use when they get hungry.
We are a community member that helps facilitate other organizations with food. During the Covid-19 epidemic, we were able to be the drop-off point for resources that we were able to turn around give to other organizations to help a greater number of people in our community.
We are a volunteer organization that also employs individuals through the CSEP Program while providing a sense of community to the rest of our 50+ volunteers. During the Covid-19 epidemic, our CSEP Employees were not able to come to work and we had several of our volunteers opt to stay at home as well.
During the Covid-19 epidemic, we were required to close our doors. While we closed our doors, we continued to serve the community by doing a drive-through setup. Our clients lost choice but still were able to get food. We have a site on Facebook with video and pictures check us out.
The need is great! Any donations will be welcomed!
