Mission: Gateway Blood Association was established in 1995 in response to critical blood shortages throughout the St. Louis area. Our mission is to provide the safest and highest quality blood products, services and health programs to the patients and communities we serve. All our programs revolve around two key initiatives: providing blood products to St. Louis area hospitals, and supporting wellness of donors through free health screenings at all blood drives. All donors receive free total cholesterol screenings, and all first-time African-American donors receive free sickle cell trait screening.
