Causes: Christianity, Religion
Mission: The organization helps christians understand the beliefs of non-christian religions, defend the primary teachings of historic christianity, teach christians to pray, witness, and have compassion for those who are without christ. In foreign countries, the organization trains christian leaders, provides mercy ministries, strategize to empower christians and make christians successful as well as carry out evangelistic crusades.
Programs: In 2017, gbm was involved in over 29 ministry events. Some of these were large events with multiple times of teaching and ministry. The ministry events included church services, seminars, bible schools, intern programs, and other ministry proceedings out of the country and in idaho, oregon, and nevada. The international ministry in 2017 included four trips to kenya. I was in nairobi, kenya, three times to work with kenya college of ministry. Gbm has partnered with capital christian center of meridian, idaho, to help start and teach at kcom. The school has approximately 80 students in either the three-year diploma course while others are working on a thesis for a degree. Most of the students are senior pastors. The courses that they take emphasize both theology and practical ministry. The school has grown to now include pastors from the country of tanzania and various parts of kenya. We have had five graduations to this point. Of note, in the august ministry in kenya, i was asked, along with another pastor, to speak at a large conference of pastors in massailand. Over one thousand christian leaders were in attendance. In september, i traveled back to kenya in partnership with world map ministries to host and teach at two other conferences for pastors. One of these conferences was held south of nairobi in a small community and the other west of nairobi in the rift valley in the city of narok. Hundreds of pastors were taught and encouraged. By the end of 2017, gbm had eighteen schools in pakistan. Six of these are trade schools for women and twelve are schools for children who are slaves in brick yards. All of these schools are in the punjab region. The schools for women each have a teacher and about 12 students. They are taught to become seamstresses and beauticians so that they can get jobs. These are christian schools, but we allow women who are not christians to also come. Some muslim women attend these schools. We have had 200 women graduate from our trade schools since 2009. The gbm hope schools for slave children each have a teacher with approximately 45 students. The students receive uniforms, desks, curriculum, and are taught urdu, english, mathematics, science, and bible. The united nations refers to these children as slaves. The government of pakistan does not include them in their school systems, and we have been told that education is the only possible way that these slaves will gain lasting freedom from the indentured, downward-spiraling-bondage system of the brick yard factories. Two churches in the punjab were started by gbm. These are called light city churches. Each church now has about 200 people in attendance. Though we do not yet own land, the congregations meet in courtyards and they seem to be doing well. In 2017, we helped one of these churches with a building program. I published two more books in 2017. These included allah weeps: a christian perspective of modern radical islam and pathways: what you believe really matters. These can both be purchases on amazon. Com. Along with the major ministry events of 2017, there were numerous planning meetings for gbm missions, counseling times, pastor gatherings, etc. We produced two news digests.
