Mission: Fundacion de Tierra Preservada is a private, non-profit organization formed (i) to promote for the benefit of the general public the permanent preservation of land and natural resources in Latin America, including those lands which are of national, recreational, scenic, historical or productive value, and (ii) to engage in the study of and education regarding such land and natural resources.Fundacion de Tierra Preservada is committed to the principle that development must be rationally controlled, planned and managed in order for human life and the environment to co-exist and continue.Fundacion de Tierra Preservada strives to help Latin America in its efforts to achieve sustainable human development by assisting Latin American countries to design and carry out conservation programs which allow for development but on a managed, planned and controlled basis, so as to provide for the protection of the environment. The goal is to sustain development without loss of the livelihood and lifestyle of the people those countries.Fundacion de Tierra Preservada cooperatively works with the other organizations which support the conservation of the environment of Latin America countries for the benefit of the general public.Fundacion de Tierra Preservada endeavors to educate the people of Latin America and the rest of the world about the detrimental effects on Latin America's fragile environment, not only on the shoreline and in the rain forests, but on the interior valleys, caused by mass development or poor land management.
